1. Who we are

Friday ("the app", "we", "us") is developed and maintained by Isaac Okwuzi. This privacy policy explains how Friday handles your data when you use the application.

2. What data Friday collects

Friday is designed to operate primarily on your local machine. Here is a clear breakdown of what data leaves your device:

• Voice audio: When you speak to Friday, your audio is streamed in real time to Google Cloud Vertex AI (Gemini Live API) for processing. It is not stored by Friday.
• Text queries and context: Any text you type or that Friday reads from your screen to fulfil a task may be sent to Google Cloud Vertex AI as part of the request. This is necessary for Friday to function.
• Conversation memory: Friday stores a local conversation history in a SQLite database on your device. This data does not leave your computer unless you explicitly share it.

Friday does not collect, store, or transmit:

• Your name, email address, or account details (no account is required)
• Continuous screen recordings or screenshots beyond what is needed to complete a specific task you request
• Keystrokes or clipboard contents beyond active task execution
• Any data to Friday's own servers (Friday has no backend server)

3. Third-party services

Friday uses Google Cloud Vertex AI to power its AI capabilities. When you interact with Friday, your queries and relevant context are sent to Google's infrastructure for processing. Please refer to Google Cloud's Privacy Notice for details on how Google handles this data.

Friday uses Clerk for optional user session management if account features are enabled. Clerk's privacy policy applies to any data processed through their service.

4. Local data storage

Friday stores conversation history and user preferences locally on your Windows PC using SQLite. This data is stored in your user application data directory and is not accessible to anyone other than you and applications running on your machine.

5. Screen and computer access

Friday can take screenshots and interact with your desktop when you explicitly ask it to perform tasks that require this. Screenshots are used only to fulfil the specific task you requested and are not stored beyond the active conversation session.

6. Children's privacy

Friday is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
